Thunderstorms and humidity

June 3, 2013
Hey family!!!!!

How’s it going?? This week was a good week. It was also super hot and humid...we have been very wet and sweaty...haha we've enjoyed a lot of slurpees for dinner! haha

On Wednesday (because Elder Wilson got transferred) a lot of people wanted to feed him one last time. So guess how many meals we ate that day...?? 6!!! and 2 to take home with us...we were filled to the brim..sadly Elder Olivo didn't judge his food intake and didn’t conserve space because at our first meal there was a lot of really good food and he ate a ton...only for us to have to eat again about 10 mins later! haha man.

On Thursday at transfers all those who are getting switched to the new mission have already gotten switched! Even some of the new missionaries who just got here from the mtc got switched to the Richmond mission! I lost a coouple friends...haha. but it’s ok, the Lord knows what He is doing! I was able to get some pics with some before they left haha.

Isabell and Stefany got confirmed yesterday! And they both asked me to do it. It was really great! What an honor to use the priesthood I have for the use of others! Isabel also told us Arnoldo should be getting out of jail this Friday!!! So we can start visiting him again and clear up all his problems and get him baptized!!! So we are looking forward to that.

A lot of our investigators haven’t been coming to church!!!! ahhh!! We only had one yesterday.... everyone is so busy! It’s been so hard and frustrating...because they can't progress unless they go to church. We teach the importance of it but they "have to work"....so far from what I've seen out here is that if an investigator goes to church a couple times they will get baptized!!

There has been a couple really sweet thunderstorms!!!! Lots of rain and crazy lightning! It’s awesome. This morning in our jog it was sprinkling just a little bit and it was so nice!

I’ve been thinking about this ward lately and just how this ward would fall apart without obsipo...even though he does stuff different and doesn't help out with the missionary efforts he somehow keeps this ward together...a lot of the missionaries don't always give him the credit he deserves because he is so focused on the members who are even coming..he doesn't focus on less actives because he has a hard enough time with those who come! He's a great guy. Also he's a gringo! ha. It’s a great ward they just need a lot of help!

We are still trying to talk to everyone we see! We've been doing a ton of street contacts and actually getting new investigators because of it. We haven't done a whole lot of knocking doors because we haven't really had any need. Some people are way nice and others...well not so much hahaha.

Also if you could all pray for Elder Moodie. Next time someone goes to the temple maybe put his name on the pray roll? Sweet, thanks!

Well I think that’s about all for this week! At this point we are just trying to get our investigators to PROGRESS!!! hahah man what a challenge....

I sure love you all so much and very proud of you!!! Thanks for everything

Con mucho amor,

Elder Lifferth

Family!

May 28, 2013
Hey family!!

How are ya'll doing?! I hope good!!! It was good to read your emails! Congrats Michael and Stephen for your hard work!

This week has been good! I'll just run through my list real quick!

This week we had a lesson with one of our investigators Delilah, and she told us that she had a dream about us haha in her dream she was feeding us and then invited us to her restuante for free! It was a "hip and modern" sandwich place but she gave me a salad! It was really good and then at the end Elder Wilson looked at it and said there was little pasta balls in there...I thought they were little seed things....but I ended up getting sick.. haha oh man!! But it was so nice of her!

On Sunday we had 2 baptisms!!! Not 6 like we originally planned...but it was still so wonderful!!!! Isabel and her daughter Stefanie! Isabel is the mom of Arnoldo who is the one in jail! So it was just really wonderful!

This Thursday is transfers and I'll be staying with Elder Olivio to finish training him! and Elder Wilson will be leaving. There are so many missionaries coming!!! So many changes it'll be really exciting!

Yesterday for p-day we went to the temple!!!! My first time in there!! I was so wonderful I missed going....I miss going every Saturday with Justin, but when I get off my mission that’s gonna be something I'll still do!! It was so great!

We had a lesson with Isabell on Saturday and there was a little neighbor boy listening and he was so excited and kept saying how he wants to get baptized!! he said "come talk to my mom so that I can be baptized too!" haha so we went up and she's like well if that’s really what you wanna do. They didn't come to church but we'll be going over this Saturday! So we'll see what’s up!!

We were tracting in this one apartment complex and a crazy old man came up to us in the middle of us teaching someone and started talking to us and said now you guys be careful for those mormons I saw them here the other day, they're dangerous! Elder Wilson said sir we are the mormons. haha the guy just looked confused! We were thinking later that he was drunk, and later he drove off! Poor guy...drinking and driving!

Also I had a question if you could fill up my old ipod that plays videos with all of the bible videos and then send it to me with a charger as well! I'm going to email president and see if that’s ok. But in the mean time if you could do that?! That'd be great.

Also dad how is hilite.org doing? I was wondering about that the other day! Hope it’s good!!

Well that’s about all that I can think of! Just working hard and striving to be obedient! Thanks for all you do!!! Love you all soo much!!!

con mucho amor,

Elder Lifferth

May 20, 2013

Hey Familia I got the package and I really enjoyed it haha. Thanks so much!!!!

First off my year supply of allergy meds is almost out (the one from costco) if you can send me another one that'd be great, if not I can get smaller supplies here. Just let me know!!

Well this week was really busy and great!! Lots of great stuff happened.  I had my interview with President and that as always was really good. He's such a great man and president. I really look up to him a lot, it’s very true about my setting apart blessing about him.

Then we had our "launching leaders: meeting with Elder and Sister Ritchie (the very successful ones) and they taught us a lot. One thing that I really liked is that they told us the danger of comfort zones, they said comfort zones destroy productivity! And the only way to get out of comfort zones is by setting and keeping goals!! They also told us to make our own "personal constitution" for different phases of our life and always changing and adding to it depending on the phase of life you are in. So now that I'm a missionary I've written one but I'm going to add more about some stuff that he taught. So I invite all of you to make your personal constitution and live it, write what your values you, what your goals are, who you want to be etc etc.

Then as you see that picture with Elder Larry Echo Hawk, he came to our half mission conference to talk!!! It was awesome!!! But wow it was really amazing!!! He used to live in this zone here in Arlington before he was called into the 70. He talked really about so much stuff, from his experience getting called, his life's story, his conversion story, how he played football at byu for every game for 4 years even though he was the smallest guy. He talked a lot about finding out what is God's divine plan for you. He said to find out you need to pray and read from the bom, so that’s what I'm trying to do because I want to know what God's plan for me is.

Yesterday we were tracting and talking with everyone. One guy we talked to was just being crazy. He wouldn't accept the BOM....we met at least 3 crazies this week who were just so opposed to it...it was really sad... but as we were talking to this guy a lady came and just stood by us.. I was like ok listen please. Then at the end I introduced us and she said she is a member and told us her story...very crazy story and one I honestly had no idea how to respond haha....she told us she got in a big fight might have to go to jail for 2-5 years...and that also since it has been so hard being a single mom and providing for her kids she decided to be a prostitute for awhile...my response was that now more then ever she needs the gospel and love of Christ and that the only way she is going to receive that is by going to church and talking with bishop. I then shared about the atonement and shared one of my favs scriptures, alma 7:11-13. She cried and then we set up another appointment. The spirit was really strong and it was just a really crazy experience....I felt bad for her...

But my birthday was really good, President Riggs called me and sung to me haha and Elder Wilson drew a pic of me literally and gave it to me...and some candy and Elder Olivo got me a gluten free chocolate cake and a less active member made a type of lomo soltado :D it was really good. I also got your package on my b-day, perfect timing haha. Also Sunday night a member called and gave me another gluten free chocolate cake!! Previously I had done a really good job of laying off the sweets ;) hehe. So it was good, it felt like just another day being a missionary though! Which really is one of the best gifts!

We haven't seen our miracle family this week,......noooo!!!!!! We called, texted, knocked the door and they have just been busy with work.. We are trying so hard to reach our goal of 6 baptisms...it’s going to be so hard!!! But we are being obedient and working hard so God is helping us!

Also on Saturday we went to visit a less active who doesn’t want to go to church and hasn't been for over three years because she is embarrassed to go because her son is gay... we talked a lot and shared scriptures and testified..we asked if she wanted a blessing and she said yes and choose me! Another great b-day present!!! I felt the spirit so strong!! I was nervous but God put the words into my mouth. It was very nice. Power of priesthood is so powerful and real.

Well family I love you all so much!!! Transfers aren't this Thursday but next Thursday, President said most likely me and Elder Olivo will stay and Elder Wilson will leave. I'm ok with whatever God wants. It will be fun. I enjoy training, it’s fun. I have some pics but the computer is being a clown again... ahhhh well.....

Sure love you all so much and miss you all so much too! ya'll are great!!! Thanks for the package and the ties. I wore one to church!!! I like them. I think that’s all, I'm glad everyone is doing great!

Con amor,

3lder Lifferth

Dia de la Madre

May 13, 2013

Hey family,
It was great talking with ya'll yesterday! I really loved it haha i could have talked forever.

I think I wanted to say everything I was going to yesterday!

I have my advair I'm currently using plus another one, also my synthroid is good for now.

Everything is going good still. Last night the Dees made me gluten free brownies (they really spoil me hahah) today we still may or may not go to dc if not next week for sure!

I was really excited that Amanda was going to have twins....too bad she's not hahah!!

I literally cannot think of anything else to say besides I love you all. You all look so good and happy. Me alegra!!! I'm grateful for the technology we have to do that!!! What a blessing.

I'm glad you liked the leaf mom. I saved that since fall!!! haha.

Well I hope everyone continues to be great and happy and choose the right!!!

Last night I had a dream a baby fell into water and even though I'm a missionary and can't swim I jumped in and saved him haha. Kinda random! It reminded me of the time of Christ and they all complained when He healed on the Sabbath. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, right??

Well I love you all, take care!!!

May 6, 2013

Hey Family!!!

This week was really good and kind of hard haha.

Mom I sent you a letter the other day, when you get it you can't open til after we talk on skype or phone on mother's day! ok?! Also if you could get my username for skype and password in case we find a member who will let us skype? and if we don't skype I'll just call you. But either I'll call to work out my skype info!

Also Elder Olivo my new comp is a good guy. He's 18 and graduated early from high school so he could leave early haha. But this week was pretty hard, kinda. His first couple days we got dropped by a couple people and none of our plans really worked out. He was really disappointed to see that, but it’s been good to teach him how the mission life is and that plans rarely go through! haha it’s not all sunshine and roses.

We did have a lot of good stuff happen this week though too. Lots of good lessons and new people!! We were tracting this really sketchy area haha and we saw 2 people and started walking towards them and they saw us and when we looked for cars to cross the street they both booked it away! One ran inside the apartment and the other ran away fast holding his pocket. And then a car pulled up to that guy and there was some yelling and Elder Olivo who is Colombian said that they were asking for cocaine and using colombian "signs" it was pretty crazy haha. But no harm or anything to us, just really funny how fast they darted away!!!

One of our biggest miracles is the Soto family!! We still have to teach them and yet they came to the ward party Saturday night and church and again to the temple with us!!!! I was really thinking they were members haha ,but they're not, just so prepared and ready, truly angels, it’s so mysterious!!! haha. They are such a cool story! haha it’s hard to describe just because I don't know much about them because we haven't even taught them yet!!! But they accepted to be baptized ! haha.

We also took Brenda to the temple visitor's center. I forget how beautiful the dc temple is! wow!! (I took some pics but the computer is not letting me upload again...) the spirit was so powerful and the sister missionaries who work there did a really good job with the lesson. I really feel like I'm in heaven while I'm there. Definitely gotta get married in that temple.

So at our ward culture party everyone brought food from their country and I was sampling and these taco things I was eating I realized that it  wasn't corn tortillas...but flour... I was like great...but nothing happened for a little til about 10:10 at night, my stomach started really killing and I threw up a little bit. I don't remember gluten ever hurting like that in the past when I ate it..? oh well I'm ok. Still feel a little pain and change in my digestive system. I still think I haven’t gotten everything out! haha (too much info?)

The work here is going really good. I'm really looking forward to talking with you all hopefully by skype but if not that’s ok too!  Working really hard and talking with literally everyone to try to reach our goals!!! Also yesterday was really hard to tract because of cinco de mayo haha either no one was home or everyone was drinking...we were tracting one area and police came to a little fiesta with lots of drunk people... ha. Word of wisdom people!!!

One thing that I am extremely grateful for is the commandments and obedience. I may not have always been obedient in my life but I have really learned the importance of it. And how commandments are really here to help us with everything. They help us grow and become more Christ-like. When we keep the commandments we feel worthy and happy. No guilt or shame or pain. And not to mention DC 82 :10. I'm grateful for a loving Father in Heaven who loves us enough to be hard on us  and give us commandments. I'm grateful for all of you and that we can have emotion and love for others. I'm grateful for missionary work and my friends especially Elder Moodie, mi mejor amigo en todo el mundo!!! I'm grateful for the work of Jose Smith and all that he gave for this gospel. It makes me want to give all I have too. I feel ready to give all I have for this gospel. Sacrifice something good for something better. I love you all so much. I'm very grateful for your examples and support. Don't forget to get my skype info all worked out because I honestly can’t remember my username or password!! hehe oops.

Con mucho amor,

Elder Lifferth

Fun Week

April 29, 2013

Hey Familia!!!

Man....Dad que paso???? haha That sounds like that was pretty terrible experience for you. I'm just glad you're ok now!!! :)

A couple cool things happened this week.

First off, this past week our investigator Arnoldo got taken to jail...I was suprisingly sad...you just love these people so much and it was rough haha. But yesterday after church we talked with his mom and got the direction of the juve place he is at and had a member take us! It was a good experience. It made me think of the spirit world and how that’s kind of my idea for that. There is going to be missionaries to go in and teach people who are in spirit prison. I look forward  to being a missionary there as well :) We are praying that Arnoldo gets out soon. He might may 8, or the 17 and if not by then a lot longer....so we're praying!!!

Also we have been trying a new tracting way. We go around and instead of giving out schpill how we’re missionaries etc, we tell them we are representatives of Jesus Christ and we would like to give a blessing over the family and the house. So we get in and teach a small principle that God is our loving Heavenly Father and explain how He has given us the way to return to Him and that’s Jesus, we explain our relationship with God and then explain how we are going to give the blessing (we've been told to use the Melchesidek priesthood to do it, so it’s the real deal!) haha and then afterwards of course the spirit is strong and we explain what the feeling is and then invite them to be baptized right there and set up a return appointment! It’s really cool. At first I was like man that’s pretty weird! but it’s been really effective, we found 17 new investigators this week by doing that!

Today we are getting another missionary so we'll be in a trio, just like the mtc.

Saturday we had a meeting/conference with the Ritchies'. They are a senior couple missionary and all they do is give these seminars on how to be successful. A little background info for him is that he retired when he was 34, he was a vice-pres for a billion dollar company. Super successful in life and now they serve missions. I think this is their 8th and they want to make it to 10. But we learned a lot on how to become successful spiritually and temporally. And there will be 8 classes throughout the year and that was the first one, so I'm looking forward to learning more!!! I'm really grateful for the opportunity to learn more.

Also I think I requested if maybe you have the time or the means if you could send general conference talks on CD’s in Spanish. If not that’s ok. Also for the translator same thing. If you can great if not no stress!!! :)

Also this week I went on exchanges with an english elder. He just got out here and was already struggling...so I went with him to try to help him. I think it was really good. He has a girlfriend and that’s really distracting him but I talked to him a lot about that ha. Also we had dinner with a family and we got to talking about my health problems somehow and they have 2 kids with hashimotos and not celiac but diabetes. So we talked a lot about that sort of stuff. It was fun haha.

This week was really good, lots of miracles. Some strange stuff but it’s all good. Oh yeah..yesterday at church there was a beggar!!! She was from Maryland and hired a taxi to take her "somewhere where the people are really nice" and the driver thought and knows how the mormon church has a lot of really nice people! haha. The lady has been in this country for 3 months and is from romania and speaks spanish...I guess they show movies and tv shows all in spanish there. But she was just kinda strange... we were trying to have her talk to bishpo but she kept trying to leave...we were like hello do you want help or no?!?! hahaah finally she decided to wait but we had to leave so we don't know what happened...haha

Also I was wondering if you could send some good cardio and other workouts to me.. that I could be able to do in a room (can't really go out running because the comp doesn't want to, so I'm trying to get creative but I keep doing the same workouts haha, I want to mix it up. Please and thank you!

Wow Stephen broke up huh? It’s for the better. Now when he goes on a mission he won't have distractions ;) right?! heheh

Finally I can upload my pics!!! There’s a lot so I'll have to break it up into separate emails :D

con mucho amor,

Elder Andrew Lifferth

Spring Time

April 22, 2013

Spring Time

Hey family!!! Wow lots of changes for ya'll! from hair to surgery. That’s fun haha the pic of mom caught me off gaurd but it looks good!! Stephen's knee on the other hand doesn't look too good haha. Hope he starts feeling better.

So last Monday as I told you we went to DC. It was really fun. We parked at the hiro shima parking and walked about 3 miles into DC. I took a lot of cool pics and I hope you enjoy them. The cherry blossoms were mostly dead already haha...oh man...

So as ya'll know we've been working with a youth named Arnoldo who is 13 but really big for his age. He's the one who has had a lot of problems with the law. Yesterday morning we called his mom and she told us he was still asleep and it was about 10:10, so we drove over there and woke him up and had him get ready and also the whole family got ready and they all went to church! It was awesome haha. He's set to get baptized on may 18 (if he doesn't get thrown in jail this Tuesday) so pray for him :)

For this transfer we've been praying and thinking and we feel like we can get 6 baptisms by the end (may 30) it'll be way hard but possible. So that’s where we are at now. We have some solid people now and we are also looking for more solid people, God's elect if you will.

This week I finally got to mow some lawns! I didn't realize how much I miss it... haha. I'm not sure if I ever told you this but before my mission I had a dream that I was a missionary and that I mowed someone's lawn, now this week that dream happened. haha one of the lawn's was a older lady member's lawn and the other was one of our solid investigators' Rina, the one with the bakery. haha I made sure to have Elder Wilson take some pics of me mowing. haha.

One of the youth who goes to the english ward who's mom is argentine and he, Daniel leaves on his mission to honduras the end of may and we've been having him come out with us! He's really quiet and kind of awkward but we are working with him and he is already getting better! It’s nice. He also has celiac and his mom said she's going to make me a gluten free cake for my birthday!!! yeah!!!

One of most powerful investigators, Brenda, is ready to get baptized. She knows all the lessons and is just powerful. The only thing holding her back is her boyfriend....but we started teaching him, and there is some small progress happening with it. He now knows he has 2 options before may 18. Well I  guess 3 ;) 1) move out 2) marry brenda 3) get married to brenda and then to get baptized too ;) hehe so we'll see what happens haha. It’s looking good though.

I think that’s about it. Do you like how I do my emails? Is there anything you want me to change? Add stuff? Exclude stuff? idk let me know :)

con mucho amor,

Elder Lifferth

One of our investigators gave us a lil 20 lb dumbell that I am so happy for that I work out in the car while we drive!! Also the sadness the cherry blossoms were gone hahah.

April 15, 2013
Hey Family!!! I love you all.
This week was good and interesting, a lot of good experiences.
First and foremost 3 days this past week was in the 80's and 90's plus humidity!!! It was a small treat of how "great" summer will be haha. It was so hot!! But one good thing is that all of the trees are officially blooming and blooming fast!!! We were driving on this one road in the morning and you could see little green sprouts and then only several hours later when we drove by again there was a lot more! haha it’s nice.
So this week is transfers and President already ruined the suprise haha, he emailed me and said that we'll be staying one more and that’s all. So I'm excited with that. I sure love President and I think he really likes me too.
So one of our cool experiences this week was with a lady named Rina. If you can remember the email how we taught about 8 adults at once and how some of them were just pumped and on the edge of their seats, well one of them was Rina and had lost contact with her til this week. We called her and she finally answered and invited us over. She told us that she's been reading the BOM and really likes it. She is set to be baptized. Then at the end she told us she wants this feeling for her whole family!!! It was soo cool. She owns her own little bakery and said she made some gluten free desserts!!! I told her I'll need to try it out haha. Then on saturday right before the baptism when we ran over to Rina's real fast and invited her and her cousin Moises to come and they both did! and loved the baptism!! Said she felt soo good.
A couple sad experiences too....Elcy... ha we had a great first lesson with her and put her on date. She's the girl who said  she got chill bumps listening to us speak and that she knows it s true. Well we got a text from her saying thanks for helping her realize how much she needs God and that she's just going to start going back to the catholic church "her family's church"....it was so sad!!! And then last week remember how we found 4 teenagers and taught them and they loved it and put them on date...they like Elcy are catholics but haven't been in years and they texted us and told us they decided to go back because they now know how much they need God.... so we've been doing less-active work for the catholics this week...! haha
We were tracting and went to go check up on a potential and I smelled some brauts being cooked and started craving them. I thought I'd stop by the store before going home to buy some for my dinner. But a couple drunk hispanics were having a small bbq and invited us and they were cooking brauts and they gave us some!!! It was a blessing because I hadn't had brauts since the last time we had them as a family! haha so it was a tender mercy. The drunks were really nice and invited us to come back when they weren't drunk to talk about our church and God (we went back another day and they were drunk again...might be difficult! ha)
We got a referral for this 13 year old kid so we went to check him out. His aunt is a member in the Fredricksburg zone and is concerned for this kid. Haha, she has good reason! He’s 13 and is in a lot of trouble with the law, used drugs etc etc but is ready to change! He's on house arrest so he's always home hahah! It’s perfect for us to see him whenever!!  We taught him the word of wisdom and he's like "yeah that makes since, last week I did some 'purple kush' and my head is all messed up still..." me and elder wilson were like whats purple kush, I guess its a type of weed? hmmmm poor guy. But he said he'll stop. He is also on date to be baptized may 18!! haha
The other day during lunch an fbi investigator knocked on the door and I answered and he whipped out his badge and said that he's conducting an investigation for our neighbors upstairs and then asked some questions but then I told him I have only been here for 5 weeks. He was really nice! Just at first I was like great this guy is here for us! haha jk. It was cool though. Kinda scary how much weird stuff is going on the that apartment complex haha.
One thing this week that was very frustrating was a less active member!!! ahhhh!!!! We were trying to get him back to church and read the BOM but he will not.. he is so twisted its way sad. First he was making a big deal how the church is racist separating the english from the spanish, then we explained how they do that so people can hear and learn in their own tongue. Just kept complaining and murmuring etc etc...says becasue he's 72 years old he knows everything and that us youngins can’t teach him, and he said "in fact I'll read the BOM just to teach you guys!" I was like what is wrong with this guy haha, then he said how the church isn’t true because they are hypocrites and that the leaders aren't perfect! We tried so hard to stay calm and just talk but he wasn't letting us. hahah poor elder wilson was sick so he was on meds and started saying some stuff!  But afterwards felt bad for how he treated him but blamed the meds haha.
This week at our zone conference we watched a video/talk called 'His grace is sufficient' by Brad Wilcox. You should all read it because it will change you, it is really good. I really learned a lot and it kind of changed my perspective.
Now on to the cool part! So we got a call from a hispanic member but she goes to the english ward telling us she has a romanian referral for us. She has been taking them to the temple visitor center and they love it and that they said they are ready to go to church. The only problem is that they don’t speak english but that spanish is super close to romanian and they can understand it! So we went over to this member’s house and they were there. We were talking in spanish, and she was replying in romanian. Even though we or her weren't understanding 100% we could understand most of it. Then at the temple VC one of the missionaries felt prompted to ask this couple if they spoke romanian and she asked and they said that they served their missions in romania. So we called them and set up and appointment for tomorrow so that they can translate so they can understand better. So all in all it’s just one big miracle story. I hope it all made sense, it would be better to explain in voice ha.
Also dad at church yesterday I saw Paul and his family I guess moved here 7 months ago. Which is cool. He recognized my name and he asked if you are my dad. I told them I remember going to their big house. They were surprised I remembered. ha. He said he was going to email you too so heads up ha.
I'm glad everything is going good. Michael looked good in his tux hahah! I didn’t realize Charley worked 100 hrs a week! That’s a lot. Yeah we've been emailing. Also I did get a letter from zach d. He is a good guy! ha. Everything here is really good. No complaints I started doing a new way to study/use the scriptures haha my comp calls it "killing the BOM" I learned it from Elder Bednar awhile ago and then I remembered it again yesterday in an answer to something I fasted for. So I cut out verses and glue them to index cards and then organize them into topics. It’s so I can review them and not forget all these great scriptures I learn. It makes my studies more hands on and I can learn better, so I'm still working on it. hah don't make fun of me, :)
Then on saturday we had the baptism of Nancy and Roberto. Brenda hasn't made up her mind. She wants to marry her novio but he's not sure so we are working on it! The baptism was really good! I really felt the spirit very strong. It was good because they choose members to baptize them so they are already part and friends with a lot of people!!!
Well I love you all soo much. Today we are going to the cherry festival!!! I'll take some pics unless they all fell off...then we will just explore. Should be fun!
Con amor,
Elder Andrew Lifferth
PS those buildings are Arlington, and then Nancy and Roberto and Carlos and Bro Smith who baptized them!!! :)

Whoa!

April 8, 2013

Hey Fam-Bam!!! Love you all so much!!!

But man how about conference!!! Friday night and Saturday night I had really cool dreams!! On Friday night I had a dream Elder Bednar and some other man came to me and sat me down and just taught me, very personally. When I woke up I was like man that’s cool but does it mean anything, then in my morning prayer I was telling God about it and then a thought came how General Conference is today and Elder Bednar is going to speak! So I better pay attention to that one I guess it was for me and I really enjoyed it! It was a great talk! Then Saturday night Elder Holland and his wife came to me and sat me down and taught me, very personally. Then the same thought, Elder Holland is going to speak today so pay attention, it’s just for you. It was really cool because I had no idea that they both were speaking at the same day of my dream! Miracle right?!?!

So lately I know I shouldn't be thinking of life after the mission but this week I've had the feeling I should be a seminary teacher and also coach soccer. idk! I don't know the schooling for becoming a seminary teacher would be! idk, maybe just a random feeling? But I wouldn't mind it!

So one of the guys we have been teaching, Andres, who is 14 tried to get permission from his mom to get baptized but she won’t let him...he has been sad but excited that when he turns 18 he can choose for himself ha. We still haven't talked to his mom because she is so busy!

The other day we were driving and we saw 2 crows trying to eat a baby squirrel and Elder Wilson was like pull over and we can save it, I was like I think it’s already dead! Then we drove a little more and he's like pull over! I was like ok ok ok.... so he runs out and grabs it and brings this thing in the car...covered with fleas and ticks....(do you see where I'm going at) I'm like bro....don't do that! not listening to me of course...then he starts picking off the fleas and just drops them in the car...I tell him to at least kill them and throw them out the window..."I am" he says....yeah right! hahah. Then he brings it inside our apartment............nooooooooo!!!!! haha past couple mornings I've been killing little crawlers on the walls....then after all that was said and done the squirrel's back legs are paralyzed....and we can't take care of it and we can’t let it go because then it'll die anyway...so he puts it out of his misery...sad for both of us.....then he's like "yeah...should have listened to you..." all the problems could have been avoided.... oh well. I think I've killed all the bugs in the house... hehe..

We were doing some tracting the other day and started teaching these 2 18-20 guys and then another teen came and then another, so we are here standing teaching 4 teens about the restoration and out the end of it they are just all amazed and really feeling the spirit and they are all on date!!!! It was awesome!! Since may 18th is a saturday that’s one of the days we say to people, "we are holding a baptismal service on may 18, will you prepare yourself by doing....and be ready by that date?" and they all accepted! It was phenomenal!

The work has been going really good! We should have 2 baptisms this saturday and maybe 3 if this lady either gets married or boots the novio out of the house! She still has a couple days! So if you could all pray for roberto, nancy, and brenda! That would be great.

Everything is going good with me, a little allergies with all the new blossoms, we should be for sure going to the cherrry blossom festival next week!!!! I hope.....glad all of you are doing great! Any mission call for cousin Jordan yet?

Well sure love ya'll!!! Lemme know if I can do anything for you!!!!

Con mucho amor,

Elder Andrew Lifferth
